What the service is
Themeremedy is a Shopify app that reads your theme's source code, reports accessibility issues it can identify from that code, and — on a paid plan — generates suggested replacement code. You choose whether to apply any suggestion.
What the service is not
It is not a compliance certification, a legal opinion, or a guarantee against a claim. Automated testing detects roughly 40% of WCAG success criteria; the remainder requires human judgement that software cannot supply. Nothing on this site or in the app should be read as a promise that your store is, or will become, legally compliant. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice.
Your responsibility for changes
The app does not modify your store. Suggested code is applied by you, in Shopify's theme editor, at your discretion. We recommend reviewing each change and relying on Shopify's theme version history if you need to roll one back. You remain responsible for your storefront.
Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly through Shopify's Billing API and appear on your Shopify invoice. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. You can cancel at any time by uninstalling the app or downgrading to the free plan; cancellation takes effect immediately and is handled by Shopify. Because Shopify processes payment, Shopify's refund handling applies.
Acceptable use
Use the app on stores you own or are authorised to work on. Do not attempt to resell the report as a certification, or represent our output as a compliance guarantee to a third party.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Scanning depends on Shopify's API being reachable.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any legal claim brought against your store.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
